Serious Games Summit DC announced; discount for WCG readers

CMP and the Serious Games Initiative have announced the Serious Games Summit DC, which will take place on October 18-19, 2004 in Washington DC.

The event is designed to give game developers the opportunity to learn from successful serious games applications and make connections with the groups involved in these projects, including public and private sector project leaders, policy makers, contractors, military personnel, government administrators, educators, and game developers. Topics at the summit will include training, policy exploration, analytics, visualization, simulation, education and health and therapy.

Ben Sawyer and I will be presenting a tutorial on our forthcoming suite of telecom technology education games, Project: Connect. I will also be leading a panel called "Games as Mass Media Dialogue Devices," which should be of interest to WCG readers.

Just asked the organizers. Right now there's only one rate, but they may introduce a student rate. I'll update here if there are any changes to the pricing structure.
